Successionis Nicholas Braun and locke and keyEmilia Jones appears in a first look at a new movie cat person.
The psychological thriller is based on a viral New Yorker story from 2017, and follows a 20-year-old college student named Margot who strikes up a text friendship with a 34-year-old man named Robert.
However, as she eventually agrees to go on a date with him, their night together causes the relationship to take a turn.

The first images show Braun and Jones in character for the two main roles, as well as Margot looking at her concerned phone.
The movie comes from The stewardessby Susanna Fogel, with The Savages‘ Michelle Ashford adapts the original story by Kristen Roupenian.
The film also stars Geraldine Viswanathan (The gallery of broken hearts), Hope Davis (Your Honor), Fred Melamed (A serious man), Lisa Koshy (Lisa on request), Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark) and Isabelle Rossellini (Joy).

“Using Kristen’s excruciatingly well-observed short story about the horrors of dating as the starting point for a true genre film, cat person will explore the hellish landscape of modern romance and the idea that we’ve all been the villain in someone else’s story and the victim in others,” Fogel previously said of the project.
Braun is of course best known for playing Cousin Greg on HBO Successionand also appeared in the likes of the big villain and Zola, while Jones starred in Netflix locke and key, hall of wolves and Doctor Who, and first Oscar-winning film CODA.
cat person will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2023.
