Frederick Weller, Obie Award winner and Drama Desk Award (Kill a mockingbird, Take Me Outside, In Plain View) will play Big Daddy in the previously announced Off-Broadway return of Tennessee Williams Cat on a hot tin roof.

Presented by Ruth Stage, previews will begin Feb. 24 at the Theater at St. Clement’s, with an opening night set for March 5. The broadcast will continue until March 31.

Returning from racing last year, Matt from Rogatis resumes his performance as Brick. Cobra Kai Star Courtney Henggeler will make her Off-Broadway and New York stage debut as Maggie. Additional casting will be announced.

Joe Rosario is back at the helm, with set designer Matt Imhoff also back for the encore. Lighting designer Christian Specht is new to the creative team. Jesse Meckl is the stage manager. Casting is provided by Ruth Stage.

The recent run, which ended on August 14, 2022, was the first Off-Broadway revival of the play authorized by the Tennessee Williams estate. The Southern storm of a play about greed, deceit, self-delusion, sexual desire, repression, homophobia, sexism and the looming specter of death won the Pulitzer Prize in 1955. Ruth Stage’s interpretation is set in a Mississippi Delta estate of Big Daddy Pollitt, a wealthy cotton magnate. The play examines the relationships between members of Big Daddy’s highly dysfunctional family, primarily between his son Brick and Maggie the “cat”, Brick’s wife.

The production is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
