Humane Society cuts cat adoption fees in half after $3,350 donation

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — If you’re looking for feline friendship, you might want to check out the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society.

WTFlorida Racing, O-Town Racing and Osmo Tires donated $3,350 to the Humane Society.

The money comes from the Betty White Challenge, where groups raise money for animal organizations to celebrate the late actress’ devotion to animals.

The money will be used to cover 50% of the adoption costs for adult cats.

“Kittens, it’s a little easier for us to find homes for the most part,” said Leah Lawrence, director of the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society. “Sometimes adults, bonded couples, even those who are maybe a little shy, can be a little harder to adopt.”

The reduction will go until the funds are exhausted.
