A Frontier Airlines representative told CNN that adopters who bring Spirit or Delta home will receive two vouchers worth $250, for a total of $500 in vouchers “per pet parent.”
The person who adopts the kitten named Frontier will receive four vouchers worth $250, for a total of $1,000 in vouchers.
All vouchers are valid until the end of 2023, the airline says.
“We were thrilled the relief organization decided to name these three adorable kitties after airlines, including our own,” Frontier said in a statement emailed to CNN. “Highlighting the plight of animals is important to us.”
The airline cited its “Plane Tails” program as an example of its commitment to animal welfare. Each plane is decorated with an animal on its tail, many of which belong to threatened or endangered species.
“We were more than happy to provide a little extra incentive to encourage the adoption of these three precious kittens,” Frontier added.
The Animal Foundation, a Las Vegas-based nonprofit, told CNN in an email that the three kittens arrived at the facility in late December. The kittens had been found in northern Las Vegas.
The tiny felines are only about two weeks old and are currently in foster care. Once they are six weeks old and weigh at least 1.5 pounds, they will be ready to be adopted into their forever home.
“It’s unusual to have a litter of kittens in the shelter at this time of year, so when we got these three little balls of fluff to The Animal Foundation, we knew we had to give them special names. “, said Kelsey Pizzi, communications manager. to the Animal Foundation, in a statement shared with CNN.
