There are now less than three days left in January, which means the announcement of the first wave of DCU projects under the new james gunn and Peter Safran’s plan will be announced shortly.

Obviously, the filmmaker faced a deluge of requests to unveil the upcoming slate from the second we entered 2023, but even the most impatient franchise fans will surely be able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that there are less than 72 hours left. until we find out what’s going on in the pipeline.

That being said, sleuths may have deduced at least one headline looming on the horizon, and in a fitting installment of online serendipity, it all comes down to a photo of a cat. The internet has been defined by its users’ love of sharing snaps of their feline friends, so it’s only fitting that Gunn let you know what came out of the bag by accident while showcasing his whiskered companion.

Of course, it’s long been rumored that Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller will headline her own HBO Max spin-off series that exists as part of PeacemakerThe corner of the DCU, so it wouldn’t be much of a shock if that was one of the upcoming announcements.

Then again, there are people who are already reading too much into it and claiming this is a deliberate mistake on Gunn’s part, but the good news is that we don’t have long to wait to find out where the truth lies.
