MIA has teased collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat for their upcoming LP, MAST. According to The Fader, the electronic artist took to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, August 30, offering details on upcoming tracks, with a possible third collaborator in the works.
“COMING SOON, I PROMISE I WAITED 2 YEARS FOR A DOJA CAT VERSE. THEN A NICKI ONE. SO A – NEVER MIND,” the British rapper and singer wrote.
She revealed that her sixth studio album had been in the works for a minute and the artist threatened to leak it herself if it was not finally released. “IF MAST IS NOT IN SEPTEMBER, I WILL LEAK IT MYSELF,” she said.
MIA’s next project has no scheduled release date and there is no information on a track listing. However, according to the artist, this could change in September.
The MATAs The first single, “Popular”, was released on August 12, 2022 and came with a music video. Additionally, Travis Scott featured the “Paper Planes” rapper on his 2020 single “Franchise.” The aforementioned track also featured a guest verse from Young Thug. MIA’s upcoming album is their first album in six years, featuring OBJECTIVE being his previous effort.
