This year, para completion questions were added which was unexpected but impactful for the students. Overall, the CAT 2022 question paper has 66 questions of which VARC has 24 questions, the DILR section has 20 questions, and the QA section has 22 questions.
If we talk about the analysis of the exam by section, the QA section is considered the most difficult because the questions were long.
CAT 2022 marking scheme
According to CAT 2022 Marking Scheme, 3 points are awarded for correct answers and 1 point is deducted for wrong answer in MCQs. There is no negative rating in non-MCQs.
CAT thresholds for top IIMs typically range from 98 to 100 percentiles for general category students. For students in the reserved category, the IIM 2022 threshold will be slightly lower around 95 to 98 percentile.
Now, at the end of the CAT exam, the answer keys will be published according to the defined schedule. The CAT 2022 result is expected to be released in the second week of January.
