Initially, when the dog raised its paw to pet the cat, the latter took a step back to make sure there was no danger. This reaction was followed by a few seconds during which the animal duo patted each other without hurting each other.
Once the introduction was complete, the senior put the dog back on the ground and continued to pet the cat himself before continuing his walk. The wholesome moment was captured by neighborhood TikTok user Cheyenne, who uploaded the video to the social media platform, as reported by Upworthy. As soon as the clip surfaced online, it garnered a thunderous response from people online. While sharing the clip, Cheyenne hailed the friendly gesture as a “pure moment” and added, “It brought me to tears because I was shocked that I got to see such a sweet moment in person. I’ve since can’t stop smiling.
If the report is to be believed, the TikTok clip has garnered over 7.7 million views and over 1.4 million likes on the app. The video went so viral that it even caught the eye of the senior in the clip. He reportedly took to the comments section of the post to identify himself and reveal more of his pet dog’s name. The elderly man said he made sure to pet the cat and assess how the intro might turn out. He added that his four-year-old dog had been introduced to cats before, so there was no harm in taking the friendly approach.

Once the dog was identified, the TikTok user didn’t hold back from responding to the viral man’s comment.
